Having had an interest in music since an early age, I began private piano lessons at the age of 12. Later, I studied Jazz piano at the School of Contemporary Music in Boston and then, returning to the Classical genre, as a Piano Performance Major at the New England Conservatory of Music. I became fascinated with piano technology, studying under Frank Hanson (Head of NEC’s Piano Technology Department and technician for the Boston Symphony) during my time at the Conservatory, and then joining the Piano Technicians Guild in the late 1970’s.
Since that time I have continued to expand my technical knowledge by attending numerous PTG Regional and National conventions, as well as the C. F. Theodore Steinway Technical Academy at the Steinway & Sons factory in NY and at Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio.
I am also a certified Stanwood Precision Touch Design installer, as well as a Wessell, Nickel & Gross certified action installer.
